The three diagrams depicted here show the enormity of the crime as it begins in the Village of South Nyack at a private residence and continues to various locations throughout Rockland County between the Nyack's and Spring Valley. Those locations are indicated on the overall vicinity diagram.
This two-story frame dwelling on North Greenbush Road Blauvelt was completely destroyed by arson. The original configuration of the floor plan and details were recreated after climbing through the debris and locating key points. The completed diagram represents the residence as it was prior to the fire.
Creating a diagram from the results of tragedy is not only challenging, but rewarding when the results can assist prosecutors in presenting the case to a jury. Witnesses are able to point out various areas so that it is clear to all involved.
